This is what my town looks like in January.
Do you see the cold pallor? The icy streets? I am currently sitting under a blankie, with little half-gloves on to keep my fingers warm.
I know, I know. WHY do we live here?
I think it’s ‘cause our house is here.
Here is our pretty red door.
Inside, it’s not so bad. There’s food.
And happy people.
And cookies.
We northerners try to hold onto something happy during the cold months.
Like our little mountain ash tree in the harbor. [hang onto your red berries, little Mountain Ash!]
It inspires us all.

I think your town looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing... and winter like all seasons is just that, a season. Enjoy the inside snuggle time. =)
God bless you Susan as you bless so many of us.

Hi Susan,
Thank you for sharing the winter where you are. Here in Prague, we're having much more of a winter than we thought. This Texan girl is learning a lot-- about driving through virtually unplowed streets in 2 1/2 feet of snow, of clearing snow from cobblestones (impossible), andhow quickly a chunk of snow the size of a Skoda from the top of an Old Town spire hits the ground below. Oh-- I never knew fog could coexist with snow for weeks on end. But the one thing I know I'll always remember is how incredibly beautiful snow can be when it sticks around. (I've posted some photos on my blog at http://jenniferlynking.blogspot.com, if you're interested.) Here's to enjoying the beauty of winter.
Warm hugs,
Jennifer
